About Us

office staff

Dr. Heidtke practiced OB/Gyn at The Burns Clinic for 15 years until 1998, when she left to start a more patient friendly practice. In 2006, after 23 years of OB, and thousands of babies, she changed the practice to Petoskey Gynecology & Infertility, to focus on delivering individualized, high quality gynecologic care to women of Northern Michigan. She has gathered a wonderful team of women for her office who share her goal of providing the best possible service to her patients.

Through many years of working together and keeping up with advances in medicine, our office has been able to offer unique treatments for women, options not necessarily available in other Northern Michigan gyn offices, including a comprehensive bladder evaluation and treatment program, broadened infertility options for couples in our region, minimally invasive surgery to treat a variety of gynecologic conditions, and new techniques for repair of the pelvic floor. In addition, we offer new office based procedures for sterilization, and endometrial ablations to treat heavy menses.

Dr. Heidtke

Dr. Heidtke is readily available to see emergencies, referrals, and infertility patients on a same-day basis. If your problem is less emergent, we will work you into our schedule, depending on the nature of your problem, in a week or less. Please call for appointment availability. Routine exams with Dr. Heidtke should be scheduled at least six weeks in advance. Karen Sussman, our Certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, has more flexible scheduling, and will be happy to see you sooner for routine exams and treatment of minor gynecologic problems. (See Contact Us for more information).

Our office is located on US 31 South, with convenient parking just outside the door. Our office provides a warm and friendly atmosphere. We want to make you as comfortable as possible while you are here.

Our philosophy is to give our patients the same care we want for ourselves, our sisters, our mothers. We are committed to involving you in your care, from taking time to fully explain medical issues, discussing risks and benefits of various treatment options and listening to your concerns. You are important to us as individuals, and we take pride in knowing that we provide the highest quality care possible.
